Good News Finland recently reported that Finland is one of the best countries in the world to be a child, according to the KidsRights Index.
KidsRights is an organization focused on the rights of children all over the world. In conjuction with the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus School of Economics and the International Institute of Social Studies, they conduct research in 182 countries to produce the KidsRights Index that measures how well a country is able to meet the articles of the The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Index is comprised of five factors: right to life, health, education and protection, and how well does the living environment in the country enable the exercise of these rights. These are then calculated to form the final ranking. Finland did excellently in every area: further proof that Finland really does provide the best default settings for a good life.
